    Little Nightmares II builds greatly upon what the first title achieved, and pushes with great effort to accomplish even more in its setting, design, and gameplay - and it absolutely succeeds in every area of the game. From start to finish of this 4-5 hour experience, you’ll be sat on the edge of your seat, wanting nothing more than to go back in the opposite direction, but the world design and your curiosity will compel you to delve ever deeper into the horrors that await. I am confident that fans of the first game will absolutely love this installment, and any newcomers should go back and play both of these games without a doubt. The settings are both creepy and beautiful, and I really hope to see more from Tarsier Studios in the future.

    Little Nightmares II does everything you'd expect of a sequel. It sticks closely to the grimy winning formulae of Little Nightmares, while improving on it in key areas. It's clear that Tarsier Studios know what makes their players tick and delivers it to them in festering bucketloads. Everything from the game's story, to the claustrophobic atmosphere it creates combine into an incredibly compelling package that is a must play for horror lovers everywhere.

    Tarsier Studios introduces Little Nightmares 2 with kind of a continuist approach yet still managing to surprise us. The game is backed by an improved narrative, exquisite gameplay and an excellent design that, altogether, portray an experience whose only flaw is but a battle system that does not merge well with the rest of the elements in play.

    So there are some very clear positives and very clear negatives to Little Nightmares II. The narrative is quite good, solid with lots of meaning flowing beneath the surface. The gameplay is mostly simple enough, the settings are ugly-pretty, the music enhances everything. Basically, it does wrap into a neat little package that can be unwrapped in layers. I can't ignore the issues, though, mainly with the lack of options and repetitiveness that can happen with failure. Still, Little Nightmares II does in fact feel like a conclusion to the first game in the series, yet still manages to turn it into a never-ending story so that someone else would be able to continue with the world. In that sense, it's actually quite clever.

    Little Nightmares II is worth experiencing for its art direction alone, although its hand-cramping controls can be an obstacle at times. The title relies far too heavily on trial and error, which frustrates, but many of its encounters will live with you long after the credits roll, and so it’s successful at creating a lasting impression. It’s a stiff and rigid release at times, but its puzzles are constantly reinventing themselves, and each frame draws you in with its surreal and unsettling imagery.

The story, environments, music and sound are all amazing. Enemies are terrifying and worthy successors to the janitors, the twin cooks and the Lady, with a few exceptions. The star of the show is definitely the environment; the intricate rooms, rooftops and alleyways are rich in detail and atmospheric effect. Very reminiscent of INSIDE (2016.) I hope this series continues on.… Expand
